“The work of the Bexley Community Foundation has created a legacy of impact and empowerment, ensuring Bexley remains a vibrant, innovative and inclusive community for generations to come. Thanks to our donors, community partners, grantees and supporters, we are here for our Bexley community.”
Hallie Raskin, Executive Director
Welcome to our 2022 Annual Report!
The Bexley Community Foundation has reached many milestones since our founding in 2010 – $5 million in total grants awarded to our community, successfully launched our first ever capital campaign for the Jeffrey Mansion Expansion Project, conducts 2 grant cycles annually, and hosts a yearly Annual Event in appreciation of our donors. Thank you, for your continued support of our organization.
The mission of the Bexley Community Foundation is to sustain and enhance Bexley as a special place to live, learn, work, play and care. Your support helps us achieve our mission. Without you, none of this would be possible. We hope you see firsthand how your donations are making a difference in our community, as a community. What we do today creates Bexley’s tomorrow.
We hope to see you around Bexley soon!

During 2022, we awarded $330,198 in grants and distributed $276,317 awarded in 2022 and prior years. Due to the timing of our grant cycles and other factors, all or part of a grant is frequently distributed subsequent to the year in which the grant is awarded.
During 2022, operating expenses were funded by contributions from our Board members, corporate gifts designated for that purpose and investment return on our funds at The Columbus Foundation. Event expenses were funded by contributions from event sponsors. Contributions from the public were used to fund grants.
Our statement of financial position as of December 31, 2022 and the related statements of activities and cash flows for the year then ended were reviewed by Wells, CPA LLC independent accountants, and copies of these statements and our federal tax return (Form 990) for 2022 are available upon request.

Grant Spotlights
Schneider Park Athletic Fields
Funded by an $81,000 grant to Bexley Recreation & Parks, this grant supported the development of the 1.5-acre multi use athletic field, a parking lot with lighting, playground, bike racks, portable restroom facilities, and emergency call boxes. This project created much needed outdoor athletic space for the entire community!
The City of Bexley opened the Schneider Park Fields in 2020.
Community Gardens
Over the last decade, we have invested over $120,000 to build and enhance the North and South Community Gardens. The 150+ public garden plots promote the emotional, physical, and psychological benefits of gardening while creating gathering places to provide outdoor educational programs and beautify our City. In 2021, the gardens were awarded 'Community Garden of the Year' by The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company.
Solomon Pickleball Courts, Tennis Courts, & Bexley’s Elementary School Playgrounds
Outdoor recreational space that is accessible to the entire Bexley community is one of our priorities. These projects were coordinated in partnership with Bexley Recreation and Parks and the Bexley City School District. Additionally, we have financially supported the ice skating rink at Jeffrey Park from 2020-present.
City of Bexley Main Event, Jazz in the Park, Labor Day Block Party, and Community Events
We have helped fund and organize Bexley's 4th of July Parade and Evening Celebration, The Main Event, Jazz in the Park, Labor Day Block Party, Egg Dash, Harvest Festival, and community-wide holiday celebrations.
